A Towing Experience(s)

Been using my '22 sx awd for some occasional short distance towing lately and I figured I'd share and also get a read on how others are using theirs (just really like talking about car stuff)
I've been hauling a small utility trailer thats probably around 1,500 to 1,800 lbs loaded to and from our local dump and hardware store, its usually within a 10 mile round trip on low speed roads and the first time I did it was in an experimental basis but surprisingly, it hanled it pretty well and its still doing so even on subsequent tows, barely feels the weight unless I'm going uphill or stopping a bit quicker than usual and yeah, I've got the factory tow hitch installed, no aftermarket brake controller yet since the loads are light and the distances short
Anyway, I'm starting to wonder about whether this could affect more in the longrun, that will be any different from normal car wear over time?
Is anyne else using their telluride in this capacity manner?

It sounds like you're really making the most of what the Telluride can handle. I occasionally tow about the same weight with mine too, and it's been working just fine. Just one thing I'd keep an eye on is the transmission fluid, if you're towing regularly, it might be a good idea to change it before the factory recommendation of 120k

Do you put it in tow mode when you're hauling? I've noticed it really helps with smoother shifts, especially on those little hills

I got a '21 EX and I've been towing a pair of jet skis to the lake every couple weekends which is about 15 miles round trip. Like you said, it handles great, especially with the factory hitch. I haven't noticed any unusual wear, but I do keep an eye on transmission fluid and brakes just in case.
